I grew up on a small traditional farm outside of a tiny town in the heartland of the United States. There I spent much of my youth helping with the livestock, the garden, cutting thistles, and throwing bales. Since then, I have been a college student, a mother, a produce farmer, and a roaming vendor. Through it all are the common threads of family, plants, puppies, art, and the collection of skills and knowledge. For most of my life, money was in short supply. I have learned to live an abundant and beautiful life by taking the challenges and lessons, and the widely ranging knowledge and skills to create what I needed. Whether it was functional furniture, beautiful art, or what I needed to live day to day, much of it is created from the abundant resources around me. I would like to take you with me on this journey towards greater abundance, sustainability, and resiliency. To help us all create abundance and protect the future for our children and grandchildren, I am using this newsletter to pass on the tips, stories, experiments, and practical information that you can use in your life.
